An early pioneer of the Irish wind industry, Tim set up SWS Energy in Cork, building up a team of 70 people and ultimately selling the company and a large portfolio of wind farm projects to Bord Gais in 2009. He then set up and led Element Power to a successful sale to Statkraft in 2019. With a background in accounting and finance, and two decades experience as a CEO of not one but two successful renewable energy development businesses, SWS Energy and Element Power Ireland, Tim’s experience and contacts in the Irish market are unrivalled.
Peter studied Mechanical Engineering in university, and then spent the early part of his career working for Accenture as a project manager in a variety of IT projects. He joined SWS Energy in 2003 and worked in the grid connection and market/regulation side of the business, joining Tim as a co-founder of Element Power. During his career in wind, Peter was responsible for the first “supplier-lite” PPA, he conceived and created the 500MW Greenlink Interconnector project, and secured, designed and delivered grid connection capacity for close to 1GW of Irish wind projects. He has sat on EirGrid's DS3 Advisory Committee for more than a decade, and was the Chair of the Irish Wind Energy Association for 6 years.
